The Player, also known as an Employee or Asset, are the faceless crewmates you'll control while playing TheMostLethalCompany. The primary goal of the player is to land on various charted moons and salvage scrap items from the abandoned sites present on-location, while surviving deadly monsters and hazards contained within, often utilising various equipment to achieve your goal. Scrap items each have an associated value that contributes to your total quota, which must be met to prevent the Company from firing you.
Players are able to customise themselves with various suits and cosmetics to distinguish themselves from their teammates, and are capable of performing various emotes.
The player's HUD acts as a source of useful information, showing you your character's status, equipped items, and several other useful features. The HUD will look like the above in standard scenarios, but may visually change under some conditions, such as when a player is damaged (cracking the visor), or encounters Mushrooms. The purpose of each main HUD element is as follows:
The hotbar displays the current inventory of the player. Items can be picked up by pressing [E] on them in the world, and dropped using [G]. Swap your currently selected item by using the scroll wheel or using keys 1-4. Only four items can be carried at once, and a single heavy item at any time.
Gear Hotbar
Additional hotbar that displays your equipped gear from the AdvancedCompany mod. Swap to this hotbar at any time by holding [LEFT ALT] and scroll to interact with it like the regular hotbar.
The status bar primarily displays your health, stamina, battery life of held item, and weight. It will also show the remaining battery life duration of a flashlight or other light source you have active in your off-hand.
General text chat that will send messages to any crew members in proximity. The noise indicator under the chat shows how much sound you are making at any time, useful against monsters such as Eyeless Dogs.
Clock
A clock that shows the current time of day. As time progresses, the moon will become more dangerous, so keep your eye on this. The clock will become hidden inside the facility, however.
A crosshair that shows where the player is aiming. Can be customised on the main menu.
Perks act as a way to enhance the player character with minor improvements that they may select themselves, to give them small advantages on higher quotas, and build around a specific playstyle. To access the personal perks terminal at any time, press [X]. This will bring up the device, allowing you to type the perks
command to enter the interface. From here, you can use your arrow keys to navigate and [ENTER] to select/spend experience.
Perks are split into two distinctive categories - Player Perks and Ship Perks. Player Perks enhance you personally, and use your personal XP reserve to upgrade. Ship Perks will provide benefits to the entire crew, and take from an XP pool shared by the entire team. XP is earned on quota completion, and all upgrades/XP gain will be reset on being Fired or opening a new save file.
Sprint Speed - Increases the speed of sprinting for the player.
Jump Height - Increases the maximum jump height of the player
Jump Endurance - Reduces the stamina cost of jumping.
Sprint Endurance - Reduces the stamina cost of sprinting.
Reinforced Legs - Increases the heights at which you would normally take damage or die from a fall.
Protective Skin - Grants damage reduction against various damage sources. Will not protect you from encounters that will outright kill you, such as a Landmine or Eyeless Dog.
Weight Reducer - Reduces the impact of carried item weight on your stamina.
Strong Arms - Grants melee critical strike chance, which will give you a chance to immediately kill enemies that are susceptible to melee weapon damage.
