A mechanical menace, the Nutcracker is an alien entity wearing the familiar carapace of a festive soldier. These beings use the shell of the Nutcracker to protect themselves, and arm themselves with a powerful Double-Barrel Shotgun, which is sure to destroy any company employees it comes into contact with. The Nutcracker will patrol when unattended, marching rhythmically with booming, metallic footsteps. When they are in the presence of an Asset, they will pop their "visor", raising the head of the Nutcracker to reveal a fleshy alien eye. This eye will assess the area for targets as the Nutcracker's torso spins, re-entering the patrolling state if it fails to spot a moving Asset. If an Asset is spotted by the Nutcracker, it will enter a hunting state, where a marching drum beat will being playing from the creature as it pursues any targets it has identified. During this state, it has two primary methods of attacking players:
The Nutcracker will reload their shotgun and shoot at an Asset it can see.
The Nutcracker will kick an Asset in melee range, instantly killing them.
While the eye of the Nutcracker is revealed, it is susceptible to damage, including melee weapons and shotguns. Killing the Nutcracker will always drop their shotgun (containing whatever ammo the Nutcracker had loaded into it) + 2 additional shells.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
When the Nutcracker enters the assessing state, remaining completely motionless will cause you to be undetected by it.
The shotgun blast from the Nutcracker can kill other entities, although it will only target Assets. If possible, try and bait entities into the Nutcracker to trick it into shooting them.
It is possible to stun and blind the Nutcracker using tools like the Zap Gun or Stun Grenade.
Utilising a Bulletproof Vest could be useful in surviving a Nutcracker encounter.
