Forest Giants are great behemoths that typically patrol woodland environs on the moons they inhabit, lending them their name. They are identified by their towering stature, spiked bodies, and markings on their body that resemble eyes. Forest Giants exhibit a curious attitude, and will follow and devour things they find fascinating. They particularly are drawn to the employees of the company, and will pursue and devour any they are able to spot.
They have a great range of vision, but are known to be incapable of identifying immobile targets the first time they are encountered, and will only detect and chase any employees who make an attempt to move within the line of sight of the entity. This trick only works once against the Giant; attempting to stand still in-front of a Giant which has previously detected you does not work. Their great height allows them to stride at alarming speeds, making outrunning them difficult if the employee is spotted.
Their reliance on vision makes them susceptible to various equipment the company can provide:
Stun Grenades or Homemade Flashbangs will temporarily incapacitate them.
Zap-guns will incapacitate them for as long as the charge is held against them.
The
flash
function of the Radar Booster will temporarily incapacitate them if they are in range of the effect.Like other dangerous exterior entities, the Forest Giant is more likely to spawn at night, or on eclipsed moons.
Identify the presence of a nearby Forest Giant by their booming footsteps.
Utilising cover, such as trees, is imperative to avoiding this entities attention.
Using the listed equipment above to stun a Giant while it is attempting to eat another employee may save your teammate.
It is possible to keep a Giant completely stunned if the terminal operator times their flash
commands on a Radar Booster correctly, effectively creating a safe zone against the entity.
Dropping all of your items may help you outrun a Giant if you are spotted. Beware of other effects that could slow you, such as quicksand or attached Peepers.
