A bell tolls in the back of your mind. Faint breathing is heard a distance away. You turn to look at the sound and see her: a pale girl in a red dress staring blankly at you. She is illuminated by no seemingly real light source, but you see her clearly all the same. The Girl is a seemingly unknown quantity, and a strange entity to encounter besides the obvious horrors of the charted moons. Once a Girl is present on a moon, she will select one Asset as her playmate. The person she selects is dependent on several factors, the most prevalent of which being:
The current sanity level of the employee.
The paranoia of the employee (the employee who has turned their head the most).
Whether or not the employee has been injured before.
Whether or not the employee is carrying a particularly valuable scrap item.
Once her target is selected, she will begin manifesting in various positions, haunting her playmate. This is often indicated by the toll of a bell and breathing in the distance. In this state, she will attempt to make line-of-light with her victim, and if she is perceived by the target she will count this as a situation in which you stared at each other. The Girl will disappear and enter the vanishing state if LoS is broken for long enough, you make enough distance between you and her, or you/another Asset bumps into her (sometimes). Based on how many times you have stared directly at the Girl, she is more likely to engage in her chasing state. In this state, she will begin skipping towards her target, sometimes teleporting in an attempt to cut them off. The only way to survive this situation is to either create enough distance between you and the Girl, or outpace her if you have enough stamina and room to move. If the Girl touches her playmate in the chasing state, they will lose their mind and immediately perish, at which point the Girl will begin selecting another target to haunt...
If you are the current playmate of the Girl, consider that no other employees can see her or perceive any signs of her. This includes your Terminal Operator or other radar users, as she will not appear as a red blip like traditional enemies.
If you hear the Girl's position indicated by breathing, try to avoid looking at her at all costs.
If you are being chased by the Girl, drop any excess weight to outrun her. You can come back for it later when she is not actively pursuing you.
Using a teleporter can be a method of avoiding a chase with the Girl.
If you are being haunted by the Girl, consider retreating to the ship and playing as the Terminal Operator for this round. If you move furniture in your ship to block line of sight from the door, you will be less likely to make eye contact with the Girl, giving you a greater chance of survival.
