# Weapons

### Weapon Categories

Weapons in the modpack are split into several categories. At any time, you can determine the type of a valid weapon by hovering over it in your inventory. Weapon categories dictate the type of weapons that can be used by an Origin\*. The goal of this choice is to add some flavour to individual Origins and spice up group gameplay.

### Combatant Types:

When selecting an Origin, the first power you will see is an indicator of the categories of weapons your selected Origin can wield. The Origin is labelled as one of the following combatant types:

Small Combatants are limited to the use of Light weapons exclusively.
