Q: My instance is lagging, how do I improve my framerate? A: Make sure you have allocated the correct amount of memory for the instance (see Memory Allocation). If you are still experiencing performance drops, follow some of the steps in Performance Tweaks.
Q: How do I install shaders? Do I need Optifine? A: Origination comes pre-packaged with Iris, which allows your client to render shader packs. To install, simply drag and drop your shader.zip file into the shaderpacks folder.
Q: Will you make the modpack Forge/Version? A: No. The pack will remain as Fabric 1.19.2, as that is the most recent and stable build for the mods in the pack. I may update it to later versions in time.
Q: How do I join the official server for Origination? A: The server is open to anyone who has the modpack installed, and by default is added to the list of multiplayer servers accessible to you. At times, the server will be set to whitelist only or shut down for periodic maintenance. Check the official Discord server for information about the status of the server, as well as finding other players to play with.
Q: Can I make a server that uses this modpack? A: Of course, there is a guide on this wiki to help you create your own server. You can also modify the modpack as much as you need for your server's needs. I do request that you do not reupload the pack after you have modified it though. Just distribute it through a cloud service like Dropbox or Google Drive to your players.
Q: Will you add more Origins and Classes to the pack? A: Most likely. I have ideas for several that I will create myself eventually and add in, and am always welcome to balanced community suggestions.
Q: I've encountered a bug in the pack. Where do I submit an issue? A: You can create a ticket for an issue on the GitHub page for the modpack. Submit any issues here under the bug report template.
Q: I'd like you to add an Origin to the pack. How do I request one? A: To request an Origin, you can create a new issue on the GitHub page under the feature request template with details about the Origin and a link on where to find it. It will then be reviewed and considered for addition to the pack. You can request features for the modpack here. For Origin requirements, see here.
Q: I don't like the Origin and/or Class I have selected. How can I reroll? A: To change your Origin, acquire an Orb of Rebirth. To change your Class, acquire an Orb of Vocation. Both can be crafted (see the links referenced here) or found in various loot chests within structures.
Q: I can't mine trees with an axe. Why? A: By default, weapons won't mine blocks to avoid accidentally cancelling swings in combat. To toggle this, press Mouse 5 by default, or rebind the setting that manages this in your options.
Q: I can't use an ability on my Origin. How do I fix this? A: You can view the Origins menu at any time (O by default). Most Origin powers have the keybind associated with them shown beside the power. If there is a keybind conflict caused by a mod with more priority, that keybind may not work, so you will need to remap your binds. Most Origins use all of the Origins Active buttons as keys, and others use Load/Save Hotbar Activator sometimes, so check for those.
Q: I don't deal damage with a weapon when I swing it. What is causing this? A: Origins are restricted to using some (or all) of three weapon categories. If you have an alert in chat when you swing a weapon, it means you cannot wield it and therefore do no damage whilst holding it. For more information, see Weapons.
Q: Does this modpack contain any technology mods (such as Mekanism)? A: No. The idea of this modpack is to stay grounded in a fantasy element, similar to vanilla Minecraft. The most technical mod in the pack is Create, as that is low-tech enough to be considered fantasy in my book.
Q: Does this modpack contain any new dimensions? A: The pack currently contains several new dimensions (including but not limited to the Twilight Forest, the Otherside, and the Mine Cells dimensions), as well as full overhauls to the Overworld, Nether, and End.
Q: Does this modpack have Treecaptitator or something similar? A: No, with the only reasoning being that the Lumberjack is a class that exists in the pack, which has Treecapitator as a passive, so the mod isn't included to incentivise players to select this class if they deem this a valuable power.
Q: Does this modpack have Vein Mining? A: It does, but in the form of an enchantment you need to apply to your pickaxe. So you won't be able to vein mine by default with every pickaxe.
